Tip Leads Sheriff's Police To Live Grenade
(CBS) – Demolition experts defused a live grenade after the explosive and a grenade launcher were discovered in a Chicago home, the Cook County Sheriff's Department says.
Sheriff's police got a tip about the weapons and found them in a home in the 4200 block of West 16th Street Thursday.
The live grenade had to be defused, a sheriff's spokesperson says.
The office released a picture of the grenade and launcher. Although the items look old in the photo, they were fully functional, officials say.
