Tinley Park H.S. Coach Accused Of Sex Assault Released On Bail

JOLIET, Ill. (CBS) -- A Tinley Park High School teacher and coach posted bond Monday night, after appearing in court on charges of having sex with an underage female student.

Ryan Dolan, 29, was arrested Saturday on a count of criminal sexual assault. At a bond hearing Monday afternoon, Will County prosecutors said he was having a sexual relationship with a 17-year-old student, who was just weeks away from her 18th birthday. Dolan and the student allegedly met and had sex at least ten times.

A judge set Dolan's bond at $250,000 and ordered him not to have contact with the girl, or any other students until his case is resolved. Dolan posted bail Monday night and was released from custody, according to jail records.

Prosecutors said Dolan might face additional charges both in and outside of Will County, which may include possessing images of child pornography.

Dolan, a Tinley Park resident, has been a teacher at Tinley Park High School since 2008. He teaches social studies, and is the head varsity wrestling coach, the head freshman football coach, and a former sophomore softball coach, according to a teacher biography that has since been taken down from the Bremen Community High School District 228 website.

The district is taking steps to have Dolan fired. Both Tinley Park High School's principal and district superintendent sat in on Dolan's bond hearing.

"We have not received an official resignation at this point, but certainly he's not going to be coming back on our campus," said Bremen High School District 228 Superintendent Bill Kendall.

Dolan's attorney and family declined to comment on the case.
