Southbound Lanes Of I-55 Reopen After Deadly Crash Near Plainfield

CHICAGO (CBS) -- Three lanes of the southbound Interstate 55 have reopened, more than four hours after a fatal crash Sunday morning near southwest suburban Plainfield.

Illinois State Police said four vehicles were involved in the crash shortly after 6 a.m. on I-55 near U.S. Route 30.

One fatality was confirmed, but police could not immediately provide further details.

Three of the four southbound lanes were closed just north of the U.S. 30 exit ramp after the crash, but reopened by 10:25 a.m.
