Three Hurt In Crash Involving Stolen Vehicle In Englewood

CHICAGO (STMW) -- Three people were hurt in a crash outside an Englewood gas station early Monday on the South Side.

An 18-year-old man was speeding south on Halsted Street in a silver SUV when the vehicle struck a black car in the intersection at 71st Street, police said.

The black car struck a light pole before stopping, police said.

The driver of the SUV, which was possibly stolen, was taken to Holy Cross Hospital where his condition stabilized, police said. His injuries are not thought to be life-threatening.

The 19-year-old driver of the black car and a 36-year-old man who was her passenger were also hurt and taken to Stroger Hospital, police said. Their injuries are also not thought to be life-threatening.

Charges are pending against the 18-year-old driver of the possibly stolen vehicle, police said.
