Three Critically Wounded In Streeterville
(CBS) -- Chicago police are investigating a shooting outside a Streeterville hotel early Sunday morning, reports WBBM's Nancy Harty.
Three men were shot, at least one outside the W Hotel on Lake Shore Drive and Ontario. Police say it was about 2:15 a.m. when someone got out of a dark SUV and shot a 25-year-old before jumping back in and speeding away.
Police say a 30-year-old was shot in the stomach and a 32-year-old was shot in the head. All three men are listed in critical condition at area hospitals.
Mike Johnson was staying at the W Hotel and says he heard four shots. He says by the time he got downstairs, he saw several police cars.
"It was definitely an eventful evening," Johnson said. "I wouldn't have expected anything like that to happen, especially on Lake Shore Drive, in this part of Chicago."
Police say all three victims have gang ties and none are cooperating with the investigation.
In a statement to CBS 2, the W Hotel general manager said, "We are thankful that no registered guests or our talent were injured in the incident during the night, as most of the events occurred outside the hotel. We have been working closely with the authorities throughout their investigation. As this is an active investigation, we are unable to provide further details and any additional information must come from the Chicago Police Department."
