CHICAGO (STMW) -- Three men were charged Sunday in connection with an armed robbery that occurred in the East Garfield Park neighborhood.

The men robbed a person Sunday at about 2:50 a.m. near the intersection of Jackson Boulevard and Western Avenue, according to police. Shortly after the robbery, all three entered a vehicle which drove away and went onto the Eisenhower Expressway.

When officers arrived they observed the wanted vehicle on I-290 had crashed into an embankment at Polk, police said.

There were no reported injuries.

William Irving, 21, of the 3600 block of South Lake, Devonte Merrill, 21, of the 3800 block of Holly Lane in Country Club Hills and Dequan Brown, 22, of the 900 block of East 92nd Place, were charged each with two felony counts of robbery with a firearm, police said.

Merrill saw two additional charges of driving on a suspended license and reckless driving.

All three are due in bond court Monday.
