Thornwood High School Teacher Charged With Sexually Abusing Student
(CBS) --A teacher and basketball coach at Thornwood High School has been charged with sexually abusing a student, Dolton police said
Spanish teacher and freshmen basketball coach Jesus Sanchez, 44, was arrested at his home in Orland Park and charged with criminal sexual abuse of the 17-year-old female, one of his former students, police said.
On July 1, police responded to a 911 call from the frantic student that her teacher had choked and sexually assaulted her.
It's alleged Sanchez picked up the victim after seeing her at her work, went to drop her off at her home and in front of that home assaulted her.
Police say more charges may come from this incident, but they do not believe there are any more victims at this point.
Sanchez was ordered held on $200,000 bond in court on Wednesday.
