The 'Voice Of The CTA' Is A Cheesehead

CHICAGO (CBS) -- The cover of the CTA voice-over guy has been blown, and it has been learned he is an interloper from north of the border, according to a published report in DNA Info.

Look, to be fully honest, his cover was blown about a year ago by Kyla Gardner, who wrote a wonderful behind-the-scenes look at the professional life of Lee Crooks.

The most-telling detail was the fact the Crooks is from suburban Milwaukee, prompting consternation from critics who question why the CTA is importing their talent.

Taxpayer dollars are being spent on transporting a Cheesehead to Chicago to do voice over work? Shouldn't that money be spent on putting a Chicagoan on the payroll?

Crooks' background also explains why passengers don't hear "Doors open on DA RITE." Or "Next stop is BRAHD-WAY"

On second thought, paying Crooks is probably money well spent.
