The Deluge Continues As Chicago Weather Forecast Calls For More Drenching Rain

CHICAGO (CBS) -- After disappearing for weeks, the rain just keeps coming.

Heavy downpours and thunderstorms will pass through Chicagoland Friday evening and into Saturday morning.

On Friday night, one tornado warning for Iroquois county was uncomfortably close to Kankakee and Newton counties. A trained storm spotter reported a tornado touchdown in a field outside the town of Danforth.

 

This area south of the Kankakee River Valley has already received 3" to 5" of rain since yesterday. Localized flash flooding is likely tonight due to the storms around now.

To the south, there is a severe thunderstorm watch for the shaded counties below:

 

Our flood threat continues through the weekend and into next week with waves of rain moving through our area.

The rain continues on Saturday and isolated storms are likely on Sunday, too.
