McAuley, working his third career Super Bowl, will lead the seven-man crew Feb. 2 at MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, N.J.

McAuley is in his 16th season as an NFL official and has served as a referee since 2001. He previously worked Super Bowl XXXIX and XLIII.

The other officials for Super Bowl XLVIII are:

Side judge: Dave Wyant
Back judge: Steve Freeman
