Tennessee Man Dies After Park Manor Beating

CHICAGO (STMW) -- A Tennessee man died Thursday morning, more than a week after he was found beaten in the Park Manor neighborhood on the South Side.

The 27-year-old man was found battered in the 7000 block of South Vincennes Avenue about 1:30 p.m. on March 26, police News Affairs Officer Ana Pacheco said.

Anthony Morris, of Jackson, Tenn., was taken in critical condition to Advocate Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn, where he died at 7:20 a.m. Thursday, according to police and the Cook County Medical Examiner's office.

No one is in custody as Area South detectives investigate.

An autopsy to determine the cause and manner of his death is scheduled for Friday.
