Teenage Boy Charged In Brown Line Double-Stabbing

(STMW) -- A 17-year-old boy is facing juvenile charges in connection to a Thursday stabbing outside a CTA Brown Line station in the North Side Ravenswood neighborhood.

The boy is facing two counts of aggravated battery using a deadly weapon, police said on Sunday. His name was not released because of his age.

The boy allegedly got into an argument with an 18-year-old woman and a 20-year-old man at the station in the 4600 block of North Western about 4:30 p.m. Thursday, police said. At the time, a source said the victims and a suspect knew each other.

The man was stabbed multiple times in the upper body and was taken to Advocate Illinois Masonic Medical Center in critical condition, police said. The woman was stabbed in the arm, and taken to Swedish Covenant Hospital where her condition was stabilized.

The teen was arrested that night about 11:50 p.m., police said.

The man who was stabbed is affiliated with a gang, according to police.
