Teen Slain, Another Wounded In East Chicago Shooting

EAST CHICAGO, Ind. (STMW) -- A teenage boy was killed and another teen critically injured in a shooting Monday night in northwest Indiana.

The shooting happened a few minutes before 11 p.m. in the 3500 block of Guthrie Street in East Chicago, according to EC police Sgt. Juan Beltran.

Darion Glover, 17, of the 3600 block of Main Street in East Chicago, was pronounced dead on the scene at 11:33 p.m., according to the Lake County Coroner's office.

Another 17-year-old boy was hospitalized in critical condition after the shooting, Beltran said.

The motive for the shooting was not clear Tuesday morning, and no suspects are in custody, Beltran said.

East Chicago police are investigating.
