Teen Shot In Lincoln Square Now In Custody

(STMW) -- A teenage boy shot in a drive-by attack late Tuesday in the Lincoln Square neighborhood on the Northwest Side is in custody facing potential charges, police said.

The boy, 15, was outside in the 4700 block of North Virginia Avenue about 11:35 p.m. when a black car drove by and someone inside fired at him, police said.

He was shot in the left leg and taken to Ann & Robert Lurie Children's Hospital of Chicago, where his condition is stable, police said.

The teen was found to be in possession of a firearm at the time, and charges against him are pending, police said.
