Teen Shot In Austin

CHICAGO (STMW) -- A teenage boy was shot Thursday night in the Austin neighborhood on the West Side.

The 16-year-old was standing on the sidewalk about 11 p.m. in the 5400 block of West Iowa Street when someone walked up and fired shots at him, striking him in the right thigh and groin, police News Affairs Officer Hector Alfaro said.

He was taken to Mount Sinai Hospital, where his condition was stable early Friday, police said.
