Police shut down Millennium Park after teen shot and killed

CHICAGO (CBS) -- A 16-year-old was shot and killed in Millennium Park Saturday night, police confirm.

The teen was shot in the chest around 7:30 p.m., on the 200 block of East Randolph, as rowdy crowds of young people converged downtown, disrupting traffic and causing police to make multiple arrests after fights broke out.

The teen, identified as Seandell Holliday by the Medical Examiner's Officer, was transported to Lurie Children's Hospital where he was pronounced dead, police said.

At least two persons of interest were taken in for questioning, and at least two weapons were recovered.

Police completely shut down the park.

Detectives are investigating.
