Teen Dies After Kenwood Shooting

CHICAGO (STMW) --A 15-year-old boy died Sunday after he was shot in the Kenwood neighborhood on the South Side.

The boy, later identified as Aaron E. Rushing, was in the 4700 block of South Cottage Grove Avenue just after 3 p.m. Sunday when he was shot in the back and abdomen, authorities said. The shooting might have been a drive-by, police said at the time.

Rushing, of the 1100 block of East 47th Street, was taken to University of Chicago Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead at 6:11 p.m., according to the Cook County Medical Examiner's office.

No one was in custody as Area Central detectives investigated.
