Teen Critically Wounded In North Lawndale Shooting

CHICAGO (CBS) -- A 14-year-old boy was in critical condition Wednesday morning, after he was shot in the North Lawndale neighborhood overnight.

CBS 2's Marissa Bailey reports the teen was standing on the sidewalk in the 1400 block of South Drake Avenue around 10:30 p.m., when a man walked up and shot him.

The boy was shot in the lower back, and brought to Mount Sinai Hospital in critical condition.

The teen's name has not been released. Police said the victim has no gang ties they are aware of.

No one was in custody as of Wednesday morning.
