Teen Charged With Stealing Cellphones At Red Line Wilson Station

(STMW) -- A 17-year-old boy has been charged with stealing cellphones on Red Line CTA trains at the Wilson station throughout the last three weeks in the Uptown neighborhood on the North Side.

The teenager, of the 4600 block of North Clifton, faces two felony counts of robbery, according to a statement from Chicago Police.

He was arrested after he was identified as the suspect who, in two separate incidents, grabbed a female's cellphone out of her hands and ran off the train, police said.

The robberies happened at about 2:15 a.m. on Dec. 28 and again at about 10:45 p.m. on Jan. 14, police said.

Police said the teen was transferred to juvenile court to be processed.
