Teen Charged With Shooting 14-Year-Old In West Pullman

CHICAGO (STMW) -- A 15-year-old boy was arrested and charged Wednesday after police said he shot a 14-year-old boy in the West Pullman neighborhood on the Far South Side.

Henry Jackson is charged as an adult with one felony count each of aggravated battery with discharge of a firearm and attempted first degree murder, according to Cook County State's Attorney's office spokeswoman Tandra Simonton.

He was arrested Wednesday after police identified him as the shooter, police said. No other details were provided about the arrest.

The 14-year-old was shot about 6:35 p.m. Wednesday when three males approached him in the 12000 block of South Perry Avenue and one of them opened fire in his direction, police said.

He was taken with gunshot wounds to the legs and arm to the University of Chicago Comer Children's Hospital, where he was still in "stable" condition Thursday morning, police said.

Jackson will appear in bond court Thursday.
