Teen Boy, 16, Killed In South Side Shooting

(STMW) -- A teenage boy was killed and another person was hurt in a Chicago Lawn neighborhood shooting on the South Side Friday afternoon.

A 16-year-old and a boy, described only as a juvenile, were shot in the 3100 block of West 64th Street about 3:30 p.m., police News Affairs Officer Thomas Sweeney said.

Jahkel Clark was shot in the head and was pronounced dead at the scene, police and the Cook County medical examiner's office said. Police said Clark, of an unknown home address, was 16, while the medical examiner's office said he was 15.

The second boy was taken to Advocate Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn with a gunshot wound to the leg. His condition had stabilized, Sweeney said.
