Teachers Now Allowed To Count E-Learning Toward License Renewal

CHICAGO (CBS)-- Many Illinois educators are facing the challenge of meeting requirements to renew their licenses.

Every five years, teachers need to meet 120 professional development hours. If they don't, they are not allowed to teach. Once the stay-at-home order took effect, teachers had no way to complete that requirement.

The Illinois Education Association is now allowing teachers to count their e-learning planning for their professional development hours.
