Taco Bell Employee Robbed At Gunpoint In Tinley Park

CHICAGO (CBS) -- Tinley Park police were asking for the public's help in finding the four men who robbed a Taco Bell employee who was carrying the store's deposit bag on Thursday.

The robbery happened outside the Taco Bell at 7224 W. 191st St. around 10:30 a.m. Thursday.

Tinley Park Deputy Police Chief Lorelei Mason said a Taco Bell worker was about to take the previous day's proceeds to the bank, when four men in a gray minivan pulled up to him in the parking lot.

"The subject is walking to his vehicle, and the one passenger reached over the driver and appeared to have a handgun in his hand, and the other gentlemen jumped out of the back seat and grabbed the deposit bag," she said.

The suspects fled west on 191st Street.

"I don't know if it was a crime of opportunity, or if it was planned. The investigators are working on all angles," Mason said.

Police have not said how much money was stolen.

Mason said detectives were checking security cameras in the area for any potential clues about the suspects and the van.

Anyone with information on the robbery should call Tinley Park police at 708-444-5300.
