Brown Line Service Resumes After Suspicious Package Checked

CHICAGO (CBS) -- Part of the CTA Brown Line on the North Side was shut down for about two hours Thursday while police examined a suspicious package.

The Chicago Police Bomb and Arson Unit was checking out a suspicious package on the roof of a building next to the Brown Line tracks in the 1500 block of North Hudson Avenue shortly after 11 a.m.

As a result, the CTA shut down service between Fullerton and Chicago until about 1 p.m., when normal service resumed. Residual delays were expected while trans began running again between Fullerton and Chicago.
