Suspicious Package Leads To Office Evacuation

CHICAGO (CBS) -- Police in the West Ridge neighborhood responded to a report of suspicious package, leading to the evacuation of an office building.

The package was found Thursday morning in a residential neighborhood in the 6000 block of North Kedzie.

Several streets surrounding the area have been blocked off as police and members of the bomb unit investigate.

The evacuation was described by police as precautionary.

Kedzie is closed in both directions at Lincoln and Peterson.

UPDATE: Police cleared the scene shortly before noon.
