Suspect Is Ejected From Vehicle And Dies During Hammond Police Chase

CHICAGO (CBS) -- A suspect is dead following a police chase in Hammond, Indiana, Wednesday night.

Police say they spotted a wanted vehicle and when they tried to approach it, the driver took off.

The driver fled west on 165th, lost control, flipped over and was ejected from the vehicle.

The driver was pronounced dead on the scene.

The entire area was closed off at 10:06 p.m. for the investigation.
