Suit: North Suburban Police Chief Sexually Harassed Officer

(CBS) -- A former suburban police officer claims he was fired from his job after he rejected the sexual advances of his police chief boss.

The federal lawsuit names the village of Round Lake Heights and Police Chief John Roehlk as defendants.

Plaintiff Hossein Isbitan claims the chief made lewd comments to him, engaged in a series of sexually provocative acts and once asked Isbitan to spend the night at the chief's home.

The former officer claims he reported the incidents to village officials but no action was taken. Isbitan says after ignoring the numerous advances he was fired for allegedly not fitting in.

Isbitan, who is openly gay, says this lawsuit is all about clearing his professional reputation. He believes his termination has kept him from getting another job in law enforcement.

Through a village attorney, Roehlk denies the former officer's allegations.
