Student In Custody After Bogus Threat At Deerfield High School

CHICAGO (CBS) -- A Deerfield High School student was taken into custody Wednesday morning, after making a bomb threat on Facebook, a threat which turned out to be false.

Deerfield police said officers responded to Deerfield High School shortly after 9 a.m. for a "low-level threat made by a student." Sources said a student made a bomb threat on the Facebook page for a student group at the school.

Police said the school was placed on lockdown as a precaution while officers located the student who made the threat.

"Officers determined the threat to be false and the lockdown has been lifted. The student was taken into custody for further investigation," police said in a statement on Facebook.
