Student Charged With Disorderly Conduct After Holding Pellet Gun Outside Elgin High School

(STMW) -- A 17-year-old boy was charged with disorderly conduct after he and a classmate were seen holding a pellet gun while seated in a car outside a northwest suburban high school Friday morning.

The boy was charged with one count of disorderly conduct causing alarming and disturbing behavior, according to a statement from the Elgin Police Department.

Shortly after 10 a.m., school administrators at Larkin High School at 1475 Larkin Avenue in Elgin told school resource officers they saw two boys, both 17 years old, holding a gun in a car, according to the statement.

The school was placed on lockdown as police investigated. Police located the car and found a pellet gun, police said.

Police only charged the boy who was seen holding the gun, according to the statement.
