State Senator, Attorney General Hosting Internet Safety Workshop

(CBS) -- Parents who're concerned about cyber-bullying, sexting and cyber-predators may be able to get some answers Monday night at an internet safety workshop in Des Plaines.

Host, State Senator Laura Murphy, says parents must monitor their children's online activities.

"You want your kids…to have some independence and you want them to know that you trust them. However, there's people that know so much more than they do about the internet and how to intertwine themselves into social conversation.

Members of the Illinois attorney general's office will also participate in the workshop that will be held at the Prairie Lakes Community Center in Des Plaines. It starts at 7 p.m.
