Two State Police Cars Hit In 5-Car Crash On Interstate 355

CHICAGO (STMW) -- Two Illinois State Police squad cars were involved in a five-vehicle crash early Wednesday on the Veterans Memorial Tollway in Bolingbrook, causing large delays in the southbound lanes Wednesday morning.

Three of the four lanes were closed as a result, but later reopened at 7:14 a.m., Illinois State Police said.

About 5:51 a.m., police stopped to investigate a three-vehicle crash just north of the I-55 exit when both cars were struck, police said. One trooper was inside each car, but neither were not injured, police said.

In all, five cars were involved in the accident and one person was said to have minor injuries, according to police.
