Starbucks Unveils Mobile Order Feature On Phone Apps

CHICAGO (CBS) -- Ordering your Pumpkin Spice Latte or favorite Frappuccino just got a whole lot easier.

Starbucks rolled out a new mobile order and pay system, using the company's iOS and Android apps, in Chicago.

The app now includes an "order" button that takes users to a variety of drinks on the menu--including some popular "custom" items, such as the cinnamon roll Frappuccinos.

Users can select the closest store, place the order, pay for it though the app and then go pick up their purchase and avoid the line.

The mobile menu does include food, such as breakfast sandwiches, bistro items and baked goods.

More than 7,400 company-owned stores across the country, including locations in Chicago will now offer the feature.

Starbucks plans to introduce this feature in select company owned stores in the UK and Canada in October.
