Jewel Osco and Fresh Del Monte are teaming up to build the stand as a commitment to combat food insecurity.
There were around 211,000 bananas on the record-breaking display.
CBS 2's Meredith Barack confirmed, guests were going "bananas" for the "a-peeling array of produce."
Anyone can stop by and get free bananas. Left over bananas will be donated to area food banks.
"It's one of our priorities to provide food to the folks that need food," an organizer told CBS 2.
