Spring Training 2021: Kopech Brings Straight Heat From Mound, But White Sox Lose To Padres

GLENDALE, Ariz. (CBS) -- The White Sox were up against the San Diego Padres on Tuesday.

Michael Kopech made his re-debut after opting out last season.

Kopech offered straight heat, with a 1-2-3 inning including a nasty strikeout. He hit 97-99 mph on the radar gun.

But the Sox lost the game 4-2.

"It just kind of felt good to be back out there; to meet again – a little bit different scenario coming out of the bullpen too, so I'm glad I got that opportunity under my belt. Kind of being back out there with those guys after being so long, it was nice to feel like I'm part of the team again," Kopech said.
