Sox Place Paulino On DL; Rienzo Called Up

(CBS) -- The White Sox have placed right-handed pitcher Felipe Paulino on the 15-day disabled list with right rotator cuff inflammation.

Paulino got hammered in his start on Friday against the Rangers, giving up 13 hits and 10 runs in 3 2/3 innings. He was 0-2 with an 11.29 ERA in four starts this season with the Sox.

Andre Rienzo, 25, has been called up from AAA to take Paulino's spot on the roster. In three starts in AAA, Rienzo is 0-2 with a 4.85 ERA. He went 2-3 with a 4.82 ERA in 10 starts with the White Sox last season.

Donnie Veal, 29, has been outrighted to AAA after posting a 7.50 ERA in seven relief appearances.
