South Shore Releases Photo Of Attempted Robbery Suspect

CHICAGO (CBS) -- Police are searching for a suspect in the Wednesday night attempted robbery of a female South Shore commuter at the Miller South Shore Station in Gary.

The woman exited the train at 9:45 p.m.. While walking to her car, noticed that a black male wearing an orange hooded sweatshirt with lettering, jeans and tennis shoes walking towards her.

The male then said, "Ma'am, I want your wallet and money. I have a gun and I will shoot you."

The woman was able to safely run to her vehicle and lock herself inside.

As the suspect ran up to her car, he paused at her window and with his hand inside his front pocket, implying that he had a gun. The suspect the fled south on foot.
