South Austin Fire Leaves 10 Homeless

CHICAGO (CBS) -- Ten people were left homeless overnight, when a fire tore through an apartment building in the South Austin neighborhood.

The fire started shortly after 1 a.m. in a third-floor apartment at 5400 W. Iowa St.

Flames could be seen shooting through a hole in the roof as firefighters worked to extinguish the blaze.

Police said no injuries were reported, but 10 people were left homeless.

The cause of the fire was under investigation.
