CHICAGO (STMW) -- An active-duty U.S. soldier flying through Chicago who didn't board his flight earlier this week and was reported missing early Friday was found several hours later in Texas.

Matthew Segur, 39, flew into O'Hare International Airport on a British Airways flight on Monday, when his connecting flight to Dallas was canceled due to the severe winter weather, Chicago Police said.

Segur was booked for an American Airlines flight to Dallas on Wednesday, but he never boarded that flight, police said. He had not contacted his family or friends since Monday.

Friday morning, police said Segur was located safe and unharmed in Texas.

He had just finished his second tour of duty in Afghanistan, the alert said.

Police said Segur's girlfriend in Dallas reported him missing.
