Smoking CTA brakes prompt emergency response in Chicago's West Loop

Smoking brakes from a CTA train prompted an emergency response on Friday morning in Chicago's West Loop neighborhood. 

According to the Chicago Fire Department, firefighters responded to a CTA stop at 500 North Milwaukee Avenue for the smoking brakes. CFD was originally called for a report of a fire. 

No one was injured. 

The cause of the smoking brakes is unknown at this time. 

Train service was briefly delayed and has resumed.
