Shots Fired During Robbery At Ford City Mall

CHICAGO (CBS) -- Robbery suspects fired off several shots at Ford City Mall after fleeing a retail theft, but no one was injured, police said.

The shooting that sent mall workers and shoppers scrambling began at Treasures jewelry store. No other customers were inside when police say two men walked in, pretended to shop and tried on expensive jewelry.

Raied Makhlouf says he watched as the gunmen fled down the mall, with the store clerks and security running after them. The suspects fired gunshots, as they ran for the exit. No one was hit.

Investigators are reviewing surveillance video.

No suspects were in custody.
