Shots fired at CTA bus in Altgeld Gardens

CHICAGO (CBS) -- Shots were fired at a woman as she exited a CTA bus in Altgeld Gardens. 

Police said the 18-year-old was getting off the bus, 700 block of East 131st Street, when she saw someone, who she knew, fire shots from the sidewalk. 

The woman was not injured, but at least three bullet holes were found in the bus and a window was shattered. 

It is not clear whether other people on the bus at the time of the shooting. 

No arrests have been made.

"This kind of brazen attack is absolutely unacceptable," CTA President Dorval Carter said in a statement. "There is no reason the safety of CTA customers and employees should be put at risk. 

"CTA is working very closely with Chicago police to identify the suspect in this incident, including providing any available video from our security cameras."
