One Person Wounded In Darien Walmart Shooting

Listen to Shooting At Walmart Leaves One Injured

(CBS) -- A suspect was at large Thursday following a shooting inside a west suburban Walmart Supercenter that left one person injured.

The shooting was preceded by an argument between two men around 6 p.m. at the Subway restaurant inside the Walmart, at 2189 75th Street in Darien, Interim Police Chief Greg Thomas said.

The gunman shot the victim in the shoulder, and paramedics transported the shooting victim to Good Samaritan hospital in Downers Grove.

"There's a lot of witnesses," Chief Thomas told reporters at the scene. "It's obviously Christmas season. It's a big Walmart store."

The shooter, meanwhile, fled and was still at-large.  Anyone with information is urged to call (630) 971-3999.
