Glenview Shooting: Chicago man charged with murder after woman found dead at Motel 6

CHICAGO (CBS) -- A man has been charged with murder after a woman was found shot dead in a motel in north suburban Glenview. 

Just after 5 a.m. Sunday, Glenview Police found 27-year-old Aliyaha Frierson shot in a Motel 6 near Milwaukee and the Tri-State Tollway. Officers tried saving her life, but she died at the scene. 

Police said Melvin Trimble, 37, of Chicago has been charged with one count of first degree murder. He is expected in bond court in Skokie on Tuesday. 

Officers confirmed a firearm was recovered.
