South Shore Man With Alzheimer's Missing Since Memorial Day

CHICAGO (CBS) — A South Shore man with Alzheimer's disease is missing after wandering from his home on Memorial Day. 68-year-old Serie McDougal has now been missing for eight days, according to his daughter, Shannon McDougal.

Ms. McDougal, a registered nurse, says friends and family have combed the surrounding neighborhoods. They have posted flyers, stopped police, and searched local nursing homes, mental health facilities and shelters. Her friends call the medical examiner's office daily and check jails.

Serie McDougal is approximately six feet tall and 140 pounds, with brown eyes and short gray hair. Due to Alzheimer's, he may appear confused or disoriented, says his daughter.

If you see Mr. McDougal, please call 911 immediately. The family is offering a cash reward for his safe return.
