Serial Home Invader Tying Up, Robbing Women In Park Forest

(CBS) – A masked man wearing gloves has broken into four homes and tied up the women inside before robbing them in south suburban Park Forest.

CBS 2's Audrina Bigos reports.

Reports of the crimes have unsettled resident Sedan Norman.

"To come home and be worried about going into my home – that's very, very scary," she says.

On Onarga Street, a man broke into two homes, targeting women who were home alone. Before stealing electronics and wallets he ties the women up.

Police believe it's same man that's hit twice this month and twice last month across town. He typically strikes between 7 p.m. and 9 p.m.

Police Chief Peter Green says the victims are traumatized. He's asking women to look out for cars following them home or men lurking in their neighborhood.

"The suspect forces his way in either as the victim is entering house, or through breaking glass windows or through an open door," he says.

None of the women has been seriously injured. The four cases may be linked to similar ones in Calumet City and Steger.
