Semi Hits Low-Hanging Wires, Takes Down Light Pole In Edison Park

CHICAGO (CBS) -- A semi-trailer truck hit some low-hanging wires and took down a light pole in the Edison Park neighborhood Wednesday afternoon.

At 3:40 p.m., a 46-year-old man was driving the truck south on Overhill Avenue approaching Touhy Avenue when he hit the wires and pulled the light pole out of the ground, police said.

No injuries were reported and the driver was not ticketed.

Following the accident, traffic was blocked off on Overhill Avenue between Touhy and Chase avenues.
