Security Guard At Streeterville High Rise Accused Of Stealing $100K In Jewelry

CHICAGO (STMW) -- A night security guard is accused of stealing more than $100,000 in jewelry from a resident of the Streeterville high-rise where he worked.

Dave Moore, 28, is charged with two felony counts of residential burglary, according to the Cook County Sheriff's office. On Tuesday, he was ordered held on a $150,000 bond.

Moore, a night security guard at the high-rise in the 500 block of North Lake Shore Drive, allegedly used a spare key to enter a resident's unit twice while she was at work, according to a police report. He stole approximately $105,000 worth of jewelry and diamonds, according to police.

Police recovered the stolen jewelry from a pawn shop and Moore was identified in a photo array, according to the report. He was arrested at his home in the 1600 block of West Augusta Boulevard.

He is next scheduled to appear in court Aug. 11.
