School Bus With Children On Board Catches Fire On I-57

(STMW) -- A school bus with children on board caught fire Tuesday afternoon on Interstate 57 on the Far South Side.

The bus caught fire in the northbound lanes of I-57 at 107th Street about 2 p.m., according to Fire Media Affairs spokesman Will Knight.

Five people — two adults and three children — were taken to Roseland Community Hospital for smoke inhalation, Knight said. Their injuries are thought to be minor.

Knight did not know what caused the bus to catch on fire.
