As CBS 2's Charlie De Mar reported, Damyan had worked as a special education teacher at Alessandro Volta Elementary School, at 4950 N. Avers Ave. The school is part of the Chicago Public Schools system.

Police said the assault happened at a residence in the 2400 block of North Kedzie Avenue in the Logan Square neighborhood between Jan. 15 and March 8 of last year.

A source told CBS 2 that Damyan confided in someone along the way, and that is how the alleged abuse came to light.

Damyan was arrested around 10:05 a.m. Monday, police said.

According to her LinkedIn, Damyan has been working as a special ed teacher since 2017.

The Chicago Public Schools said Damyan was removed from her position in March 2019 and was no longer employed by CPS as of September 2019.

Damyan will face a judge on Tuesday in Bond Court, where we expect to learn more details about the disturbing accusation.
