Ryan Tannehill's Wife Rents Car For 2 Hours, Leaves AR-15 Rifle Inside

(CBS) -- Lauren Tannehill, wife of Miami Dolphins quarterback Ryan Tannehill, recently returned a rental car and forgot to remove the AR-15 rifle she had in the back seat.

According to the Miami Herald, Tannehill rented a Nissan Rogue from E-Z Rent-A-Car on Jan. 4. She only had the vehicle for about two hours before turning it in for another.

That same day, Judith Fleissig, 58, of Rochester, N.Y., rented the same vehicle. According to the report, her daughter found the gun inside the car two days later. The rifle, valued at $2,000, was secured in its case in the back seat. Fleissig said they didn't see it right away because the seats were folded down when they got the car. They turned the gun over to the Hillsboro Beach Police.

According to the South Florida Sun-Sentinel, the gun was owned legally by the Tannehills and no laws were broken. The report says they called the rental car company to report a missing item, but they did not specify what was in the bag.
